Wedding Flower Inspiration: Pussy Willows

By Heather Leave a Comment

One of my favorite rites of spring in childhood was stomping around swamps and forests to find pussy willows with my mom and grandma. A member of the Salix family (willows and sallows), the pussy willow is named for its cat-like furry catkins that appear on the branches at the first sign of spring. In soft shades of white and grey, they perfectly complement a variety of wedding color palettes, and the delicate branches and fuzzy buds can lend a surreal, magical atmosphere to your occasion. Pussy willows are easy to grow and hardy when cut, making them ideal for bouquets, centerpieces, and other décor. Ready to put on your boots and search the nearest marshy area? Here’s some inspiration to fuel your journey…
