Wedding Flower Inspiration: Iris

By Naomi 2 Comments

Spring is upon us (well, almost in Vermont) and I can’t wait to see one of my favorite flowers soon – Iris! These unique and showy flowers have a history that dates back to Greek mythology – the meaning of the word stems from the Greek word for “rainbow” – and they can be found in an extensive spectrum of colors, though most commonly known for their blue and purple varieties. If you’re having a spring wedding and want to use an in-season flower then these can be a gorgeous choice not only for a bouquet, but for centerpieces as well. I’ve collected some inspiration to get your creative ideas flowing! And if you just can’t get enough of this beautiful flower, check out the Presby Iris Gardens.

Lovely post! Irises are so surprising! I’m glad they are getting the credit they deserve.
