Non-Toxic Nail Polish for Your Big Day

By Naomi Leave a Comment

Pretty tips and toes don’t have to mean harmful chemicals. Choose polish that is free of toxic carcinogens. Look for lacquer that is made without Formaldehyde, Dibutyl Phthalate or DBP, Toluene, Formaldehyde Resin, or Camphor. There are plenty of brands out there making non-toxic polish these days so finding the perfect color that is five-free is super easy! Here are a few of my favorite brands (personally tested and approved!).

7 nontoxic nail polish brands, 5-free

1) Julep
Known for their monthly maven subscription box, this creative brand releases 10 new shades each month. Each is infused with their Oxygen Technology, which promotes fast drying and allows nails to breathe. 5-free, vegan. Includes strengthening Hexanal and antioxidant green coffee extract. Get your first 4-piece box free.

2) Pacifica
One of our favorite vegan beauty brands released their nail polish line last year and I’m happy to report they’re of amazing quality. These 7-free polishes are available in 25 vibrant and long lasting shades.

3) Priti NYC
Each bottle is hand poured with love in the USA. This 5-free polish brand has graced the hands of many runway models. They have a major color selection – more than 150!

4) 100% Pure
These polishes are 10-free! Free of formaldehyde, toluene, DBP, camphor, formaldehyde resin, xylene, parabens, fragrances, phthalates, and animal ingredients. They currently have 50 colors to choose from and their “creamy polishes” really are ultra creamy and opaque. A pastel lover’s dream.

5) SpaRitual
Known for their philosophy of “slow beauty,” they offer a huge selection of 5-free colors in many different finishes. They maintain a large permanent collection but also release new mini collections each season.

6) Deborah Lippmann
Celebrity manicurist Deborah Lippmann creates 5-free polishes (more than 100 shades) including the new spring 15’ “whisper” collection which includes soft, sheer shades perfect for brides.

7) Scotch Naturals
If you want something completely different, then these “all-free” nature-based nail polishes from Scotch Naturals are something you’ll want to try. An eco-friendly alternative to conventional synthetic-based nail polish.
