Caitlin and Rowan’s eco wedding is full of so many colorful details! The couple was inspired by vibrant hues of the season and selected rich violet, red, tangerine and canary yellow for their palette. Caitlin and Rowan had both ceremony and reception at the historic and picturesque Woolman Hill located in Deerfield, Massachusetts. The venue is surrounded by rolling hills, fields, and ancient maples making for a naturally beautiful setting. The entire wedding party opted to wear minimal footwear in an effort to feel more connected to the earth and the magnificent beauty around them. Caitlin and Rowan’s fabulously unique wedding was captured by the team at Dani Fine Photography. Read below for more, including details about their custom organic attire!
Caitlin & Rowan met in 2005 at college and were first introduced by mutual friends. It didn’t take long before they were an item. The couple got engaged whilst enjoying one of their favorite pastimes. On the final day of a backpacking trip having hiked 30 miles from Templeton to Hampshire, MA, Caitlin and Rowan paused on the summit to take in the view. It was here, on October 28, 2012, 7 years from the day they first met that Rowan proposed. The two celebrated on the peak of the last mountain they climbed with glasses of wine and vibrant fall foliage all around.
Both bride and groom wore custom couture handmade organic cotton ensembles designed by the talented Tara Lynn. The designer, whose solar powered studio is located amidst mountainous views in Vermont, focuses on creating one-of-a-kind-pieces in an earth friendly manner. Gaining inspiration from her lifelong collection of marvelous vintage fabrics, lace, beads, buttons and trim, Tara Lynn creates elegant designs made from organic fabrics inclusive of silks, cotton, hemp and linen. Having designed the haute couture ensembles Caitlin and Rowan wore while tying the knot, Tara Lynn was an honored guest on their special day.
The affair was catered by Rob Watson of Lone Wolf Catering of Amherst, MA. The family and friends of the bride and groom were intrinsically involved in the whole event from providing all decorations and styling the wedding to coming up with an original dessert concept. Rather than a traditional wedding cake, friends and family were encouraged to bring their own favorite to add to the amazing potluck pie table.
