If you’re looking for a rustic theme, or simply some rustic details for your wedding, a guaranteed way to add a bit of rusticity is to simply look for wood décor and even accessories. From cakes painted to look like wood grain, to real wood invitations and wood wedding bands, these details are down-to-earth, yet can be quite sophisticated. Take the Tesler + Mendelovitch clutch for example which is expertly crafted from rosewood (they also make a white version out of birchwood). One of my favorite ways to use one of Mother Nature’s most wonderful materials is to simply use tree slices (2-6 inches tall) as cake or dessert stands interspersed with plenty of candlelight for a magical woodland atmosphere. You can create the same effect with taller cuts of wood at various heights (1-3 feet tall) and place dozens of tea lights or lanterns on them for an enchanting ceremony backdrop!
