Wedding Flower Inspiration: Strawflower

by in — Updated April 17, 2015

Looking for a pop of fun color in your wedding floral arrangements? Strawflowers come in sunset hues of pink, fuchsia, red, orange, yellow, white…and sometimes even deep plum. These annuals (native to Australia) have a papery feel and are also known as the paper daisy, or everlasting daisy. They’re drought resistant and so contain less moisture than most flowers to begin with. They’ll last a long time in a vase, but are easy to dry and make for a great addition to a dried flower arrangement. The first two bouquets are actually dried flower bouquets! Because they’re easy to work with they’re also great for incorporating into décor such as garlands, pet collars, hair wreaths, and even for tossing at the ceremony. I hope these punchy blooms brighten your day and perhaps inspire some ideas for your wedding!
