Woodland Wedding at Stone Mountain {Anna & Spencer Photography}

by in — Updated January 29, 2015

Kylie and Jeremy tied the knot at the pavilion at Stone Mountain Evergreen, a beautiful setting with woodland charm. Their June celebration was made unique with ethereal details perfect for an outdoor wedding in the woods – a wildflower crown, fairy tale gown, lanterns in lieu of bridesmaid bouquets (we love this!!!), and lots of candlelight. “The decor for this wedding was understated, but the emotion and connections between family and friends was beautiful and genuine,” says Anna and Spencer Photography. For Kylie and Jeremy – who got engaged while searching for four leaf clovers in the park – their day could not have felt luckier.

From the Bride…

Before the Ring:
Jeremy and I met our sophomore year in college. It turns out we lived two doors down the hallway from each other but had never met. I was wandering down the dorm hall looking for one of my friends to borrow a shirt from. I saw the door to his common room was open, so I walked in and started talking. I kept coming back and we started dating a couple weeks later—and two of his roommates ended up groomsmen!

The Proposal:
Even though I knew it was coming, Jeremy still managed to surprise me. He took me to The Flying Biscuit, a restaurant next to Piedmont Park. We had a huge breakfast then went for a walk in the park. He brought me over to a tree and said we should look for a four leaf clover. Once, when we were talking about one day getting married, we found a four leaf clover, so I thought he wouldn’t propose until we found another. I got really frantic and was looking for them on my hands and knees when he said my name. I turned around and we were both on our knees in this patch of clover and he asked me to marry him. Of course, I said yes. We ran into two women on a picnic in the park immediately after and asked them to take some pictures of us. It turned out she was a professional photographer, so we have some great pictures of that day, as well as from our engagement shoot with Anna and Spencer.

Inspiration/Details for the Wedding Day:
I tried for a long time to settle on colors for the wedding because I had never heard of anyone not choosing colors. Eventually, though, I decided to do what I really wanted and went for full-on rainbow (I called it “wildflower”). It was a little harder to coordinate so that it didn’t look overwhelming or tacky but in the end, it ended up feeling really free and colorful. I, like a lot of girls, wanted my wedding to feel like a fairy tale. The pavilion at Stone Mountain Evergreen was perfect for this—it was woodsy secluded, had a beautiful lake, and was also part of a southern landmark on top of everything else. We filled the pavilion with candles instead of flowers so that the ceremony was filled with light while the sun set.
