Wedding Flower Inspiration: Astilbe

by in — Updated May 2, 2013

Growing in a garden, Astilbe can resemble miniature versions of Dr. Seuss’s truffula trees. For a soft, fanciful look, these fluffy fern-like flowers are the perfect choice for a bouquet, centerpiece, or even boutonnieres. In the saxifrage family, certain species of these herbaceous perennials grow naturally in mountain ravines and woodlands in both Asia and North America. Astilbe is most commonly cultivated in cream, light pink, fuchsia, red, and even purple – perfect colors for a warm, whimsical wedding palette. Don’t these flowers just make you smile?

  1. Astilbes are one of my all time favorite flowers and to include them in a wedding bouquet or make a wedding bouquet from them in genius! They so ethereal and lacy. Just stunning and so original! Nice collection of images.

  2. Can you get Astible in November. Cream or blush color?
