Krista and Kasey, who met in high school when they happened to sit down at the same lunch table, celebrated their wedding day in the beautiful garden setting of Butler’s Courtyard. Tones of hunter green, peach, ivory, and cream were not only part of the attire and floral, but the many vintage tin cans Krista collected to hold the wildflower-inspired arrangements at the reception. Speaking of unique arrangements, the bridesmaid clutch bouquets are pretty much one of the coolest things I’ve seen all year! From the Bride…
Before the Ring:
I sat down at the same lunch table as Kasey while we were in High School and my friend kept telling me that this guy kept staring at me. He never did approach me so I thought nothing of it. Soon after, I got a friend request on Myspace from that same guy and we ended up talking every single day. He later told me that he went through the entire previous year book to find out my name and talk to me. It was so cute!
The Proposal:
After almost four years of dating Kasey planned for us to go on our first cruise together to Jamaica, Grand Cayman, and Cozumel! Kasey hid the ring all week! At our last stop in Cozumel we had a shore excursion at a beautiful beach. He took the ring box out of his backpack and put it in his swimsuit pocket while I was in the restroom. He asked to take a stroll on the beach with him and when we got to a secluded area he got down on one knee and proposed right there. It was perfect.
Wedding Day Inspiration:
I have always had a love for vintage and antiques so I knew I wanted my wedding to have all those things! It took a whole year to collect old vintage tins from Antique stores for our centerpieces! Color scheme was Hunter green, ivory, peach and cream.
Most Memorable Moment:
At the very end of our reception, everyone was told to go outside to get ready to see us off and while the room was empty and the lights were turned down low, he and I were able to have one last slow dance together to the song of our choice. It was so romantic and I loved how we got to be alone for just a while to take the experience in together.
Advice to Future Brides:
Don’t stress the little things. Things won’t always run super smooth but just remember it’s a special day for you and your husband to be. Let loose and have fun together in the planning and on your big day! All you remember are the good moments and that is all that matters!
