For Marc and Mandy, entering their rustic barn wedding on horseback was as natural as slipping on their cowboy boots. These two met on a trail ride, but it was Marc’s horse that Mandy fell in love with first! It took him a little longer to win her over, and there wasn’t just one proposal. “He asked me a million times,” says Mandy, “And one day I said yes. He still proposes at least once a week.” The love they share for horses, and animals in general, made their choice of wedding venue a no-brainer. The groom entered with his best man (man’s best friend), and the entire down home feel of the day represented the life they live together. Their farm has expanded to include almost 20 furry friends since they got hitched.
Details of the Day:
Marc and Mandy chose many DIY details to make their country style wedding fun and beautiful. They turned their barn/riding arena into a ceremony location with hay bale seating, fairy lights on the ceiling, lanterns, little bouquets of wheat, and neutral colored curtains to frame the entrance. The bridesmaids wore denim dresses with cowboy boots and their reception was filled with western farm décor including wagon wheels, saddles and rustic signs. They gave country style jars of jam as favors and friends and family sent them off at the end of the night with a magical display of sparklers.
