The beautiful landscape surrounding the Glenn House at Sunday River set the scene for Nola and Jamie’s rustic, dog-friendly wedding. These two, who met in college in Maine, exchanged vows on the Sunday River golf course overlooking the Mahoosuc Mountains. Camden and Fenway, their Labradors enjoyed every moment of the day with them – they even had a second cake made in the shape of a dog bone! This wedding is rich with rustic details including handmade wooden signs, antique window seating charts, birch candles, hand carved plaques of Maine hiking trail names for each table, and a gorgeous olive leaf cake. Thanks to Casey Durgin Photography for sharing this one!
Before the Ring (from the Bride):
Jamie and I met in 2001 while attending Husson College in Bangor, Maine. We were introduced at a party by a mutual friend and have been together since (that mutual friend became a Maine notary so she could do our marriage ceremony; it was so special having her!).
The Proposal (from the Bride):
I surprised Jamie for his 30th birthday and took him on a trip to San Francisco and Napa Valley. While we were in Napa, people (waitresses, wine servers, etc.) were harassing him on why he hadn’t proposed yet (we had been together for 9 years at that point). He took it in stride over and over again. The day we returned back to Maine from the trip we had a party with friends and family to celebrate his birthday. Once everyone was around and I was bringing him his cake, he turned the tables on me and got down on one knee and proposed. He wanted it to be a complete surprise and did a great job at it, a great surprise it was!
