Relaxed DIY Oregon Farm Wedding {Captured by Corrin}

Sarajane and Nick had the most amazing wedding at a family farm 15 miles outside of Pendleton, Oregon. Set among the wheat fields and sage brush, and filled with tons of DIY details by the bride and her mother, the vibe was laid back, fun, and romantic. I just love the watercolor blush and mint green colors, the thumbprint tree guest book, the leafy details on Sarajane’s dress, stunning rustic bouquet, and that adorable cake with the little lovebird topper! “My taste is somewhat shabby chic and I like things elegant but simple,” says Sarajane. She and her mom were inspired by finds on Pinterest and various blogs as well as her mom’s collection of wedding magazines which Sarajane says she’s been collecting ever since she can remember! Read below for their story and sweet proposal.

From the Bride…

Before the Ring:
Nick and I met a long time ago while we were in high school. He went to Hermiston High School and I went to Pendleton High School…both in Oregon. Our schools were rivals! Although, we didn’t date in high school we later ran into each other while he took a temporary job for the Hermiston School District that I now work for. One afternoon while I was working in my second grade classroom, he actually came into my room and we reconnected. We have been together ever since!

The Proposal:
I have a seven year old wiener dog who I adore. I came home one evening after track practice and my wiener dog, Brewsky greeted me at the door. Around his neck he had a little envelope that said, “Will you make us a Gutierrez, please?” Of course, inside the envelope was the ring! *Gutierrez is their last name.

Inspiration for the Day:
I got a lot of my inspiration for wedding details from Pinterest and various blogs. My mom also has collected wedding magazine since before I can remember so they finally came in handy! My favorite color is green so I incorporated it as much as possible, with other light and neutral colors of pink and tan/gold. We were on a tight budget and we were able to find lots of great resources at a great price!

Most Memorable Moment/s:
The most memorable moments were during the ceremony. We had a fabulous officiant who shared interesting and funny stories about our meeting and relationship. We even took an audience vote regarding who was Hermiston Bulldog fans vs. Pendleton Buckaroos! The audience loved it! Also, it was very touching to see my father tear up when he gave me away and during the father-daughter dance. If you know my dad, this is very surprising!

Advice to Future Couples:
Just to relax and enjoy every moment of your special day. It all seems stressful but in the end it will work out and if it doesn’t no one will even notice! All of our groomsmen, including the groom, forgot to wear their boutonnieres and we didn’t even notice until a couple days later.
