We recently welcomed the talented Anya Ostapenko of Bride La Boheme as one of our preferred vendors and we’re super excited to share her gorgeous creations with you today! Bride La Boheme is all about boho style and creates head pieces, sashes, veils, and jewelry. Though based in Sydney, Australia, she ships these romantic, handmade adornments worldwide. Take a look at a few of our favorites and learn more about this designer below.
How did Bride La Boheme Start?
In 2010 I was getting married and found it very difficult to find wedding accessories that I liked, and the ones that I liked were very expensive. So I started making few things myself and Bride La Boheme started as a small shop on Etsy in early 2011. Thanks to a wonderful friend photographer Anton from Blanche Photography, beautiful models, and an awesome makeup artist I met at a friend’s wedding, we photographed my creations and a website was born.
What is your creative process like?
I can’t get enough of creating images in my head and then seeing it come alive. I like to think that I not only design wedding hair adornments etc., but the whole look for the bride.
What inspires you?
Travelling is something that I cannot live without, and it’s where my inspiration flows from. I have great plans for Bride la Boheme to have different collections based on the things that I’ve seen while travelling… but that’s later. Music is also an inspiration. I love to listen to the recently emerged Lana Del Rey, and the captivating voice of Emeli Sande and her track “Heaven ” is forever inspiring. And of course that handsome Sam Sparro : )
Also, my 3.5 months old son Jakob and hubby Pavlik are my life’s greatest loves. I can’t imagine the world without those two, a very funny and handsome duo!
What is a color combination you love?
I love the combination of burlap and olive green. Its organic and comfortable nature is really attractive to me and Bride la Boheme is all about that.
If you were to renew your vows someday, where would it be and why?
I would love to get married in Zanzibar off the coast of Tanzania. We went there for our honeymoon and fell in love with it. In fact, I want to retire there! Exotic, fresh and inspiring!
