Country Chic Pepper Plantation Wedding by Chi Photography

Holly and Brandon were first introduced when Brandon lived at the apartment complex where Holly worked. The manager introduced them and even encouraged them to go on a lunch date! In June 2012 they were married at the beautiful pavilion at Pepper Plantation in Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina. Their day was filled with rustic-country DIY details by Holly’s stepmom, and summery hues of cornflower blue, magenta, and yellow. Chi Photography of Charleston did a wonderful job of capturing their joy and the sunny celebration. I love the shot of the newlyweds in the field of horses. Their cupcake tower with just one top tier of cake for the cake cutting is also a great idea as an alternative to a full wedding cake. Read below for more details!

Unforgettable Wedding Moment: When Brandon was going to throw the garter, we realized the only men at the wedding were all married! We ended up inviting all married men instead of the single guys to catch the garter.

Details of the Day: Brandon and I wanted to have a country chic wedding that allowed our guests to feel comfortable while making sure our wedding still had an upscale feel. We had about 65 guests and 90% of them were from out of town so making sure they left full and happy was another important aspect for us. We went with our favorite colors, blue with hints of yellow, to create our wedding colors. Daisies are also my favorite flower so having our centerpieces incorporate that was a fun detail.

Holly’s Advice: Make a list of the most important things to have on your wedding day & make sure those are the first things you buy and/or put a deposit on. Then work your way down to the smaller things.

Quirkiest Detail: I wore sandals instead of heels with my wedding dress because our ceremony was outside and not only did I not want heels to sink into the grass but I also didn’t want to leave with aching feet!

Thriftiest Trick: My stepmom made almost all of our decorations. Plus it is a huge stress reliever having someone you trust making the details of your wedding come to life.

Something Old: My grandmother’s ring & my step dad gave me a sixth pence for my shoe!

Something New: Wedding dress & shoes

Something Borrowed: One of my closest friends and sorority sister, Ainslie, lent me her Phi Mu badge to wear over my heart (& under my dress).

Something Blue: The garter that my step mom made.
