Elegant perennials such as these enthrall me! Delphiniums, commonly seen in English cottage gardens (sigh, wish I had one of those), are known for their vibrant blue colors. Their range of blue blooms (anywhere from deep cobalt to light periwinkle) can add ‘something blue’ to your bouquet, though they can also grow in white, yellow, pink or red. I love delphiniums mixed in a bouquet of wildflowers but they also look great paired with cultivated blooms such as peonies or anemones. If you want a truly bold bouquet you could have one made entirely of delphiniums. These flowers, which grow in tall stalks up to 6-feet tall, make amazing statement pieces for events, as seen in this first picture below.
