Sunny California Field Engagement by Maritha Mae Photography

Katrina and Eric are a down to earth couple who love baseball (diehard Dodgers fans) and having a good laugh. They had their engagement shoot in a beautiful sunny field and chose to bring their puppy, Baby Girl as their living prop. Together Katrina and Eric make such a cute couple! Since they began dating in October, 2006, they have been inseparable. After 5 years of being together, they’ve talked and dreamed about this moment. Read below for how they met and how he proposed!

Before the Ring: (Katrina’s point of view)
This whole shebang began when I was working at Raging Waters in San Dimas making huge bee-attracting snow cones. One day, as I was making those cones for the long line in front of me, Eric was the next customer and started conversation. Before we knew it, too much time had passed and the line was getting impatient. Eric then asked me for my number. After that, Eric called me and we eventually met up at the mall to hang out again. Through MySpace and endless phone calls, we fell in love. On October 17, 2006, at an In-n-Out in San Dimas, Eric asked me to be his girlfriend. Having not yet gone on a real date, I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to snag a date for the Homecoming Dance. Eric happily obliged, suited up and rode up in his red 69 Chevelle.

Proposal Story:
About a month before Christmas, Eric asked my father to meet him and his father for lunch. I was unaware of this! In fact, he told me that he was just having lunch with my dad for fun. On Christmas Eve, as it was time to open the gifts, Eric said that I should open the first gift. His mother said to open her gift first. I felt extremely awkward as everyone watched me open the beautiful Nordstrom box that I know so well! Inside was my favorite Juicy bag. As I was about to say thank you to his mom, he said that there was something else inside. I looked in and found a juicy box. I opened it and there were rings. But it did not occur to me that they were wedding rings, so I closed the box and said thank you! This is when Eric took the box from me and got on one knee as I cried my eyes out…this was the last thing I expected on Christmas Eve. Eric asked, “Will you marry me?” and I responded “Are you serious?!” and between tears, a small and nervous “Of course” came out.
