Marcia and Matthew had a beautiful forest wedding at the Laurentian Lodge in Ontario, Canada. This wedding was mostly a DIY event. They printed their own invitations, made card holders from firewood out of Marcia’s parents’ woodshed, and set everything up at the Lodge the day before. One of Marcia’s bridesmaids brought the beautiful lace parasols over from England (she ordered them from Edinburgh, Scotland). They balance the rustic setting with their romantic style and are an unexpected alternative to bridesmaid bouquets. And I just love the purple and grey color scheme, Marcia’s sparkly purple shoes and single purple peony in the center of her white bouquet!
Dress Details (from Marcia):
My dress was the first dress I tried on. My mother and I just went in the store to browse and I put it on hold for a month while I shopped around…but that one was on my mind. Unfortunately it was a few sizes too big, and discontinued. The seamstress had to alter it from a size 10 to a 2. It took 7 fittings or so but it was worth it and I got my dream dress off the clearance rack (Never would have thought that!!!). For the bridesmaids dresses, I had made a trip to Toronto to pick one out with the girls but we were not successful. After I came back, I narrowed it down to two and had a couple of the girls Skype call me from the store so I could see them trying on the dresses!

Gorgeous! I love all the details in this, right down to the lace parasols. So pretty
Beautiful! Where did she get those shoes? They would be perfect my wedding this August! Help!
I’ll see if I can find out for you : )
Thank you! I had emailed the photographer and she was going to check her photo vault to see if she has any more pictures of the shoes. But, I figured that it couldn’t hurt to ask in as many places as possible. Thank you again for your help!
