As we near the end of summer I can’t help but notice all the signs along Vermont country roads advertising fields of “pick your own” berries. These delicious fruits make for beautiful garnish on a wedding cake and give it that elegant, country style. Whether you wish to heap fresh blueberries or blackberries on each and every layer, or interlace a few strawberries among wildflowers on the top tier the result will surely be delicious. There are also several looks that use berries you wouldn’t normally eat, for more of a winter berry cake style. You could also use sugared berries for a frosty look!
