Wedding Color Palette: Chartreuse

by in — Updated April 7, 2014

With spring approaching, chartreuse is a color that definitely comes to mind. The color of spring buds and shoots, of new life. Chartreuse is a color halfway between yellow and green and was named so because of its resemblance to the greenish yellow color of the French liqueurs (there is both green chartreuse, and yellow chartreuse introduced in 1764 and 1838 respectively). Whether you prefer this unique hue more on the yellow side of the spectrum, or more on the green side the fact remains that it is not your average green. Its earthy and organic, and a little bit ethereal at the same time. Because it has yellow in it, it pairs beautifully with yellow, peach, and blush pinks.
