Ah, the beauty of a sunset! Those captivating hues that travel a gradient of violet, fuchia, coral, peach, and prettiest pink. As far as warm-weather weddings go, there might not be a happier palette! From dip-dyed gowns, to ombre cakes, and watercolor invites, there are many ways to create a sunset-inspired wedding. The photo by Floret of the farm truck full of dahlias was the original inspiration for this post – and you could create something similar with blooms lined from pink to yellow down the center of a long table, along the aisle, or of course in the bouquets. Boho Beach Wedding in Long Island, New York

This gorgeous boho beach wedding has such fun, colorful details and a laid back vibe! Vanessa and Tommy met in 2012 at the Coachella music festival in Indio, California and wanted to infuse their wedding day with “hippie chic” elements to honor how they first met. These two free spirits decided to get married at the Sun & Surf Beach Club in Long Beach, NY. The boathouse-style raw space was the perfect canvas for them to create their own aesthetic. They chose a mix of deep reds, blush pinks, white hydrangeas and yellow accents. Vanessa wore a leafy flower crown with red, orange, and pink roses to match their invitations, menus, and party favors. Their little pup Diego was dressed and ready for the big day too! More Details From the Bride…

Tommy and I are both free spirits and wanted our wedding day to be a special event for everyone – something sophisticated, but a laid back party for us, family and friends. While we both come from traditional Italian families, we wanted to put our own stamp on a lot of the wedding details – for instance, our selection of venue. We decided to get married at the Sun & Surf Beach Club in Long Beach, NY. The boathouse-style raw space was the perfect canvas for us to create our own aesthetic and theme. Situated right on the water, you would have thought we were at a venue in California (where we met) and not a half an hour from New York City.

We first saw each other for photos on the boardwalk along the beach. I will never forget that moment. Tommy and I were experiencing pure bliss. Later, our families joined for group photos thanks to Marcie at UpStudios. My bridal party chose their favorite dress under the color scheme I suggested to them. The groomsmen dressed in classic black tuxedos with gold accents to match the decor. Even our little pup Diego was dressed and ready for the big day! Then it was off to the venue where the magical night all took place. The ceremony was held in the back of the venue where the floral arch awaited us to say our vows underneath. We had so much fun choosing our flowers.

I run an event furniture and prop rental company called RentQuest, so with my team we were able to bring my hippie chic vision to life. We created an array of eclectic seating outside of the venue with a mix of vintage sofas, bright colored accent chairs, clear acrylic coffee tables filled with flowers and tied all of them with multicolored Persian rugs. Each table had a different center piece. Gold bases holding a wide variety of white and blush florals to complement the gold chandeliers above the dance floor.

Our love for music was an overarching theme of the event as well. For the ceremony, we had hired a piano that played a selection of our favorite songs. Tommy walked down the aisle with his parents our favorite Beatles song: in my life. The bridal party walked down to “Stand by Me” and me the Bride walked down to “Your So Cool” by Hans Zimmer, the theme song from our favorite Movie True Romance. For the reception, we had a live 10-piece band that totally rocked and got our guests up on the dance floor. It was not just the band that entertained; my mom, who is a professional singer, helped me surprise my new hubby after the cake cutting by singing a song from his favorite movie as a kid “Somewhere over the Rainbow.” Later on, me the bride, who loves to entertain also surprised not only her groom but, the entire wedding by getting up on stage and rocking out to Green Day’s, “Basket Case.” Finally, paying tribute to our Italian heritage and the two cities coming together, my very own brother serenaded Tommy and I with a beautiful rendition of Frank Sinatra’s, “New York and Chicago.”

Oklahoma Bridal Shoot at the Glass Mountains

Christina’s bridal session was a particularly windy day at the Glass Mountains, 30 miles west of Enid, OK. “I considered rescheduling,” says Danell of La Belle Bella Photography. “My wind limit for outdoor sessions is about 30 mph, and it was pushing my comfort zone that day.” The windy plains are what give the area part of its charm however, and I think the wind added a beautiful movement and grace to these photos that only nature can provide! Christina carried a bouquet of white and yellow roses and sprigs of wildflowers which paired perfectly with the copper, russet, sage, and golden palette of the landscape. These images capture the beauty of a bride in her gown (a gorgeous lace gown!) and the stunning vistas of a nearby canyon and grassy plateau.

Yellow and Grey Prairie Wedding in Alberta, Canada

Rolling fields of wheat, cheerful pops of yellow, summery bouquets and moody storm clouds made for a sweet country wedding for Leah and Jordan! They held their summer ceremony under a gazebo at Clymont Hall where their family decorated with flower baskets they grew themselves. The yellow and grey color scheme was carried throughout the day from the ceremony to the bride’s grandparent’s house where they had a photo session. Gorgeous storm clouds filled the sky adding to the natural color scheme. The rain poured just as they headed to their reception hall, also decorated with beautiful yellow flowers. “I grew up on a farm, and Jordan’s family also had some farming background as well so it was the perfect location for us! From the Bride…

Before the Ring:
Jordan and I grew up in a small town and had known of each other in high school but we both had different groups of friends and interests. In 2011 I was waitressing at a local pub and Jordan would come in after work sometimes with his coworkers. After a while, I began to notice he was coming in more often and would sit in my section every chance he could. We started talking a lot and getting to know each other, and he would pick me up early in the mornings after my shift ended. He would sit with me while I did my cash out then drive me home. We started dating shortly after.

The Proposal Story:
Jordan proposed end of August 2014 while we were camping with friends. We had recently purchased a side by side and were about to head out quadding for the day when Jordan asked me to put the registration in the glove box. As I opened the glove box, a gorgeous ring was sitting inside. I was so shocked! He got down on one knee and asked if I would spend the rest of my life with him as his wife and I said yes right away! He was so nervous that he was shaking and we had a good laugh about it afterwards.

Rustic + Bright Wisconsin Wedding at the Enchanted Barn

This colorful wedding might be just what we needed during the mid-winter blahs! Bright pops of orange, yellow, and red made for a lively celebration at the Enchanted Barn in Hillsdale, Wisconsin. These playful colors along with succulents and air plants for added texture created a wild bouquet that I’m completely obsessing over! The rustic venue was the perfect place as Jordan grew up around horses and working in barns. The non-traditional aspects of the Enchanted Barn also appealed to Jordan and Joel. From the Bride…

The proposal story:
We took a motorcycle road trip out to Yellowstone National Park in July 2013 where we were camping and seeing the sights of the park. Joel proposed to me at Inspiration Point which overlooks the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone at sunset while I was taking copious amounts of pictures of the rising full moon. When I turned around he was down on one knee and I of course said YES! I almost toppled off the edge of the canyon in my excitement, but thankfully my new fiancé grabbed me! It was a really special moment and we were all alone – which rarely happens anywhere in Yellowstone in July.

Details / Inspiration for the wedding day?
I grew up riding horses and working in barns, and we loved the outdoor setting for our wedding because we are outdoorsy people that liked the non-traditional aspects of the Enchanted Barn. I used Pinterest and The Knot to come up with a lot of the inspirations. We did a lot of DIY with the help of our family for the details which was a fun aspect and kept costs relatively low. We are lucky to have such talented and generous friends and family that helped to make all of our inspirations come true. We wanted to be true to who we are as a couple- and I think we achieved that with all of our details and the location. Our vendors were also amazing at helping to make our inspirations come to life, and they were all such a pleasure to work with.

Most memorable moment/s?
The intimacy of our wedding surrounded by our favorite people and officiated by my aunt. The mules running through the pasture behind the barn during our vows. All of our personal touches that made our day very genuine and true to who we are as a couple.

Yellow + Mint Utah Wedding at Red Cliff Ranch {Ivy & Stone}

Holly and Skylar chose to have their wedding ceremony set in a field of flowers overlooking the rugged beauty of the Rocky Mountains. Red Cliff Ranch in Park City, Utah was the perfect location for the intimate wedding they desired. Holly chose a light yellow and mint scheme for her color pallet – the bridesmaids in dreamy yellow and mint dresses with the groomsmen sporting yellow boutonnieres over their grey suits. A field of white and yellow daisies was the perfect compliment. The dinner reception was held in a barn at the ranch with a long table in the center of the stalls and tables also set in each of the stall like spaces. Southern Autumn Barn Wedding at 9 Oaks Farm

Tiffany and Justley tied the knot at 9 Oaks Farm in Monroe, Georgia. The high school sweethearts chose a fall inspired theme with pumpkins, hay, sunflowers, and cotton. Tiffany’s beautiful rustic bouquet included peach roses, sunflowers, and cotton buds. Their two adorable pups joined for photos before the ceremony, and we love how their cake topper included them too! The wedding party wore cowboy boots and danced the night away in the beautiful barn decked out in twinkle lights and orange and yellow flowers. Claire Diana Photography is behind the lens.

From the Bride…

Before the Ring:
Justley and I are High School Sweethearts 🙂 We first started dating in 2004 when I was a Freshman and he was a Sophomore. Started out as friends. One night all of our friends had other plans so we decided we would just go out, just the two of us. We went out to dinner at Moe’s where he showed me his chewed up food, very mature. Afterwards we went and saw the movie “Secret Window.” We were both active in the FFA, Justley’s Mom was our Agricultural/FFA Teacher. We had our ups and downs through high school but always found our way back to each other. We’ve been together now since 2007.

The Proposal:
We never were in any rush to get married. After Justley graduated from UGA, he got an opportunity a few months later to work in Savannah. Since we’d been together for so long, it was only right that I move with him, along with our dog baby, Willow. Moving to Savannah, away from our Family and Friends made us grow stronger as a couple. After living in Savannah for over a year, Justley realized it was time to ask me. I always told him I would not pick out my ring, he had to choose! So he creeped on my Pinterest account and found what kind of ring I wanted. He then took the picture to multiple jewelers to only discover the ring had been discontinued. Two of our good friends assisted Justley on picking out the perfect ring! A few days later we took the dogs for “a walk” at our apartment, so I thought! In a private area by the Marsh he proposed, with our two pups as witnesses. I always told him I would kill him if he did it in public, I didn’t want all eyes on us!

Funky & Bright Farmhouse Wedding {M and E Photo Studio}

Kelley and William are self-proclaimed “adventure partners forever” since falling in love six years ago. They have traveled the globe and love sharing time together camping, hiking, stargazing, and adventuring. They tied the knot at a beautiful turn of the century farmhouse in Lawrence, Kansas and incorporated bright details into their day – multicolored bridesmaid dresses, yellow, pink, and fuchsia flowers. Kelley wore her grandmother’s wedding ring from 1948 in Italy. Wedding guests arrived by old school bus on the beautiful late summer afternoon, where they gathered outdoors and danced the night away in an old stone barn. M and E Photo Studio is behind the lens.

Proposal Story From the Bride:

Will and I loved to hike at a park near our place in Oakland, CA called Redwood Regional Park. After a somewhat grueling hike on a hot April day we came to a bench with a beautiful view. Unbeknownst to me Will had been carrying my grandma’s ring in his pocket for months after asking for it from my mom over Christmas vacation, just waiting for the right time to propose. When we saw that the bench had people sitting on it, Will seemed strangely disappointed and wanted to wait until they left. So we ate the lunch we brought with us in a nearby tree. The entire time Will had his eye on the bench and when they finally got up and left, he ran to bench very excitedly. I immediately lay down on the bench because I was hot and tired. He was still standing and kind of moving around awkwardly and when I asked him what was up, he asked if I would stand up and look at the view with him. I had no idea what was going on. I thought he was just being weird (which isn’t so unusual) so when he got down on one knee and held out the ring, I was so surprised that I thought it was a joke (he has kind of a twisted sense of humor sometimes so it wasn’t that unlikely) but after asking “seriously?!” a few times, he said “YES seriously, I want you to be my wife!” I knew it wasn’t a joke. After a few tears, kisses and selfies, another couple hiked by and took a photo for us. They were the first to congratulate us. We carved our initials on the bench, K+W, which became the logo for our wedding and the hike we did that day will forever be known to us, our friends and family as “The Proposal Hike.” Best hike ever!
