Snow White & The Huntsman Styled Wedding Shoot

So in love with these photos! A fairy tale favorite, Snow White & The Huntsman was the inspiration for this gorgeous rustic woodland wedding shoot. A whimsical forest-themed table in the woods set the scene for this “Snow White” bride and her huntsman. The classic red apple makes an appearance, and there was a homemade apple pie too, but some of Snow White’s forest friends ran off with it! I love the ethereal light, wintry bouquet, custom gown by Faerie Brides, and wood slice chair back signs to name a few of these special details. ENV Photography is behind the lens.

Early Spring Peach + Gold Wedding Inspiration

With a timeless elegance and classic romance, this wedding styled shoot was inspired by a spring floral palette of peach and gold. Perfect for warming up an indoor celebration in early spring when there is still a winter chill in the air. Soft blush and peach garden roses, white ranunculus, and greenery makes for a garden-chic bouquet we’d love to hold any time of year. The centerpieces contained similar colors but with the addition of spring ferns, pussy willow branches, and white hydrangea. Gold plate chargers were the perfect accent to the peaches on beds of moss, ferns, and mint at each place setting. Elegant Red Alfresco Wedding Inspiration {Carmen Santorelli}

Botanicals like these by Anna Le Pley Taylor make us weak in the knees! Shades of ruby, garnet, and blush play amidst all sorts of beautiful textures that spill from an oversized centerpiece. Bouquets that any bride would be delighted to hold are trimmed in elegant white silk ribbons and I think there are even some hints of marsala in this shoot! Pantone’s color of the year for 2015. Pops of plum in the fruits on the cake and the bridesmaid’s lace dress add a rich deep tone to this scheme which is perfect for fall and winter. And what else but a full skirted Vera Wang gown to express the sophisticated grace of this alfresco celebration.

Winter Woodland Inspiration {Angela Hubbard Photography}

I know, I know, we’re supposed to be focusing on spring right now, but for many of us, this is what spring looks like so far (whether you’re in Vermont like I am or in British Columbia, Canada where this shoot took place). We’ll get back to our spring inspiration soon, but for today we can’t help but marvel at the magic of snow-covered branches and this beautiful red Amaryllis bouquet. The rich, warm tones of the bouquet, bold wine colored lip, and an ivory cream gown work to keep the bride’s appearance glowing and warm in contrast to the blue-toned scenery. A stark white gown wouldn’t look as good here in my opinion. A headpiece made of coppery orchids and little twiggy branches makes for a stunning rustic accessory that ties this whole look together perfectly.

Lavender + Rosemary Winter Wedding Inspiration {Blue Jar Events + Jennifer Bakos Photography}

Happy Friday, Violets! We’re wrapping up this icy February week with a gorgeous winter wedding styled shoot, inspired by lavender and rosemary. Among the natural beauty and rustic New Hampshire landscape, Blue Jar Events and Jennifer Bakos Photography put together a romantic shoot filled with elegant ideas. They used wholesale flowers to create simple arrangements with fragrant True White Garden Roses, Ruscus, Plumosa, and Sprengeri Greens Garland. The light blush color of the beautiful Karen Willis Holmes gown added just the right amount of color against the fresh dusting of snow, and the vintage furs kept the bride surprisingly warm on the 19 degree day. The bride and groom both wore headpieces from Salmagundi, adding a lovely vintage touch.

For this inspiration shoot, we wanted to create a romantic, soft, rustic winter wedding with a touch of vintage glam that offered an alternative to silvery, glittery winter weddings (which we also love). We were inspired by lavender and rosemary, and incorporated both throughout the shoot, from the overall color palette to the drink and menu selections to the invitation design. We love the symbolism behind both – lavender is a representation of peace and tranquility, while rosemary is often associated with love and remembrance.

Rustic Vintage Winter Wedding Style {dKin Photography}

Inspired by a vintage Woolrich plaid shirt and the wintry scene of a family farm, this shoot creates an elegant, rustic and wonderfully fun look. “We fell in love with the crisp, natural hues of the former dairy farm turned award-winning vineyard and felt it begged for a pop of plaid,” says dKin Photography. All flowers were sourced locally or foraged onsite and the hand built table is set with plates and silver candleholders from the farm’s private family collection. For the second look they accessorized a vintage wedding dress and complimented the layers of lace with the softness of a white fur jacket. The rustic “prairie looking” bouquet features cotton tufts and is tied together with a beautiful satin blue ribbon – also added to the wreath chandelier. Both looks are practical and easy for the DIY bride and we love that they’re anything but “cookie cutter.”

Woodsy Winter Charm {The Story Telling Experience}

This tablescape evokes a Narnian atmosphere, filled with love and that ethereal sensation that can only come from rustic woodland style. The Story Telling Experience adorned the wooden farm table with a centerpiece of woodsy winter accents like snow-dusted pine, pine cones, wood stumps, and glossy white antlers along with gold mercury glass, gold rimmed chargers, and an assortment of vintage china. The beautiful model, Melanie, wore a Hayley Paige gown with a gorgeous open back featuring silver beading and a soft flowing skirt – a fairy tale gown for an exquisite setting. Ghost chairs, a wooden bench, and white leather seating continued the rustic-meets-modern influence while white sheepskin throws added warmth and extra texture to the seating arrangements. Menus by Pearl Beach Paperie were modern and fresh in a circular shape that fit perfectly on the vintage china. Place cards were pinned to real figs to add more winter warmth to the tabletop. I absolutely adore this look (and that dog!) and hope all of you who are planning a winter wedding (or even a beautiful Christmas table) will be inspired. Happy Holidays, Violets!

Inspiration for Wrapping Pretty Packages

If you haven’t finished wrapping your gifts yet, not to worry! There is still today, and with these simple and pretty ideas – no one will know you waited until the last minute to wrap. With modest brown paper and some twine, you can actually make quite a statement – all you need is a little detail like any of the ones seen here: a little branch, leaves, piece of birch bark, photograph, buttons, sealing wax (one of my favorites), felted acorn, pine cones, little sleigh bells, or clothes pins. The possibilities are endless of course. What can you find in your back yard, or in your craft closet? Cue the lyrics from the Sound of Music: “brown paper packages tied up with string, these are a few of my favorite things…” Happy wrapping!
