These images from Joanna Moss Photography have me in the holiday spirit! This styled shoot showcases a fresh look that can go from wedding to party in the simple transformation of one dress – from ball gown to glittering party dress! A mix of winter whites and gold + silver glitter evokes on a modern holiday feel, or a chic New Year’s celebration. Two bridal bouquets are seen in this shoot – one containing more white and accented with bling keeping with New Year’s theme and the other more wintery and woodsy. Simple, elegant details keep this look classic with just the right amount of finesse. Light blue French macarons sprinkled in silver dust, gold mason jars, and a little indoor forest of white tress in twinkle lights. Pair it with metallic heels and you’re ready to pop the bubbly!

Deer Themed Woodland Wedding {Allie Siarto Photography}

If you dream of having a wedding reception that makes your guests feel like their seated amidst an enchanted forest, then you will love these inspiring photos from Taylor and Joshua’s rural woodland Michigan wedding! They met in Nara, Japan, where there are hundreds and hundreds of tame deer wandering around the parks. “We spent so many dates there, walking around in the sunshine, and feeding the deer,” says Taylor. Each table at their reception had different deer figurines that her mom sourced from antique shops. Gorgeous green florals, candlelight, and a berry-covered naked cake added to their amazing celebration, photographed by Allie Siarto Photography.

From the bride:

We are really, quite lucky in that our parents decided it was best to give us two weddings. We had just been married a week before in Florida, but this second wedding blessing and reception in Michigan allowed everyone in the family to be there. My aunt and uncle lent us their barn in the woods, so a woodland theme seemed to fit really well and be different than our wedding in Florida.

I loved all the vintage books that my aunt had sourced in deep greens, the cute little deer my mom had scoured antique shops for. We had a typewriter I had lugged over from England, cute handwritten signs by my amazingly talented cousin, mason jars, twinkle lights, and the most amazing wood log planters. We were very lucky – a lot of people came out to help us – some family friends lent us hundreds of beautiful antique dishes, some other family friends did the food, my uncle smoked a whole pig AND built a huge wood bar for the event.

My aunt officiated, and my cousin drove us around on the golf cart while we searched for the perfect photo spot. It was…so different from our wedding a week before, in such a good way that it allowed us to relax and enjoy time with our family and friends – and some real good BBQ food!

Snowy Winter Wedding in Vermont

This magical winter wedding is full of inspiration for a cold-weather celebration! Snowy Vermont weather, sparkling lanterns, sleigh bells, cozy boots, holiday cookies, and a bouquet full of lush white and blush pink blooms! Nikia and Kyle share a love of skiing and incorporated trail names, ski maps, and vintage skis into their rustic wintry theme. Guests were greeted with a hot chocolate bar upon arrival and bridesmaids, parents of the bride and the bride were brought to the ceremony via horse drawn sleigh. It fittingly snowed during their outdoor ceremony! Guests signed a pair of wooden skis, and escort cards were ski maps from various places they’ve skied together. From the Bride…

We met skiing in Vail, Colorado. After our return to Boston, MA, we began our adventure of dating where we soon found that our love for the snow, skiing and outdoor activities connected us. We later moved in together, bought our dog, which we named, “Vail” and soon after got engaged on the top of Beehive Mountain in Acadia National Park. Our wedding day was held at the top of Mountain Top Inn in Chittenden, VT outside in the middle of March.

Elegant Farm to Table Styled Shoot {by Millie B Photography}

As this frigid month comes to a close I thought we’d take one more look at a wintry vision full of European charm, rich red blooms, and keepsake details. Both the gold heart shaped box and bride’s lovely hair brooch were found at antique stores. We’re in love with the bride’s Italian lace wedding gown, antique toile French settee, rustic baguettes wrapped in twine and rosemary, rustic metal and wood lanterns over the outdoor fairy-tale dining area, and the weathered silver tray displaying custom calligraphed stationery.

The elegant country theme carried through to the classic menu made with farm fresh foods created for L’Apero (cocktail hour)in the library, with Beeting Hearts, English Pea Soup Sippers, A Smoked Salmon Fish Board, Rustic Antipasto, and Salmon Napolean served alongside delicious Sweetheart Serenade champagne cocktails.

“Captivated by the secluded venue, we designed a romantic outdoor ceremony that could have happened just as easily in Europe. The intimate ceremony could take place in front of a raging fire in the stone hearth where guests can cozy up under vintage throws. Our bride and groom kept each other warm as they toured the gardens and pastures, sharing some love with the sheep and chicken. The family dinner table was imagined under the pergola in the Cottage Garden. Paired with French gray linens, antique white vases, polished silver candlesticks under glass hurricanes, vintage white Lenox china, red cut crystal goblets and the family silverware, the table is a dream come true.”

My wedding day was typical of autumn – mild in the afternoon but chilly when the sun went down. Since our reception was outdoors, I was glad to have a ruffled merino sweater-jacket to slip into. Especially this time of year, it’s a great idea to prepare for unpredictable weather with cozy cover-ups for yourself and your bridal party. Not worried about the cold? Let the snowflakes fall! Winter often has a certain dreamlike quality in its natural beauty, and in a small town at the heart of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, a group of wedding professionals came together to showcase just how gorgeous it can be. A private residence provided a perfect location with beautiful birches and frosty views of Lake Michigan. Vintage sleds, snowshoes, and skis make for idyllic rustic décor. The simple setting was also accented with rustic moss, antlers, candles, hot cocoa, chai vanilla cupcakes, snowflake jewelry, and much more!

Silver Wedding Inspiration

A few weeks ago I created a gold wedding palette for you and today I’m following up with another beautiful metallic – silver! Silver is perfect for winter weddings and can be played up with lots of sparkle, or paired with color. In winter or spring silver looks ultra-pretty paired with pale peony or a dusky mint hue, and in summer with bolder colors such as fuchsia or turquoise. Set the tone by sending out invitations sealed with silver sealing wax (which you can also use on your favor boxes) and glam it up with crystal-encrusted accessories and a gown with either silver rhinestone or floral detailing.
