We’re All About the Details!

Linda has been hoping to do a bohemian themed styled shoot for several years and this one came together just like what she dreamed of, with a gorgeous couple that is actually engaged and getting married in February. The dress is a Madison James dress. A lace-covered dress that has a long beautiful train. The theme inspired the fall color theme of pinks, oranges, reds, greens, and gold.

The Florals

Lehrer’s Flowers provided colorful florals of oranges, yellows, and pinks: a flower crown (perfect with the theme and colors), a boutonniere, a gorgeous bridal bouquet, and centerpiece.

Reception Essentials

Hadley Designs designed the invitation suite, matching fans, name cards, and framed table number. Merry Expressions provided an alternate table number of an actual gold table number on a stick to stand above the place setting.

The Bundt Cakes

The Bundt Shoppe had a beautiful display of a variety of bundt cakes: White chocolate raspberry, orange creamsicle, strawberry, and chocolate on gold display dishes with “jewels” of glass hanging below. Very elegant touch and delicious, too! Pam wanted the cakes to reflect the colorful theme of the shoot. They look perfect displayed on either the gorgeous table linens of Event Rents or in the wishing well.

Little Details!

One of our favorite parts of the shoot was all of the smaller details the planner, Corinna, of Amber Creek Weddings and Events provided. Small succulents, signs, and macrame pieces. She even hand-crocheted some of them herself!

The Stonebrook Manor

Stonebrook Manor also has a “Lovegate” where the bridal couple can hang a lock with their initials. It is one of the most beautiful venues close to Denver with stunning gardens full of flowers, a marble gazebo, and waterfalls. A wedding pavilion and pergola are also perfect places for the ceremony. The venue also can cater any event with their own personal chefs. The venue has two large ballrooms with chandeliers.

Take this Advice

If you are designing a bohemian theme for your wedding, add a variety of beautiful flowers and incorporate lots of lace and little accents like succulents into your wedding design. ~Linda Murri/Photographer

Morgan and her bridesmaids had their hair and makeup done by the talented staff at Botega Salon and Gallery. I loved the cozy atmosphere and amazing artwork displayed on the walls! Morgan wore an absolutely stunning backless lace Alvina Valenta gown that her dad had picked out when they were dress shopping. The surprise was that Morgan’s dad didn’t know she had ended up picking the dress he chose for her so it was very special to see his reaction when he first saw her in it that morning before the ceremony.

When we arrived at The Meadow, the view stole my breath away! Could there possibly be a more beautiful place to marry the love of your life? The bride walked down the aisle with her dad to the sweet sound of the violinist playing, “A Thousand Years” by Christina Perri. One of my favorite parts of a wedding day is listening to the couple exchange their vows to each other. It was so touching to watch Morgan tear up during their vows and to hear Justin tell her that since he first met her when they were 12 years old, she has been the girl of his dreams. After a fun afternoon of taking photos we headed to the Norquay Ski Lodge for their reception. It was decorated perfectly with beautiful, rustic floral centerpieces (skillfully created by Willow Haven), and the atmosphere was cozy and warm. After a delicious dinner and sneaking away for a few more photos, the speeches and dances began. The love that Justin and Morgan share could have lit up the room during their first dance, it was so beautiful.

Details of the Day – from the photographer:

The girls looked gorgeous as they helped Ramona into her stunning modern crocheted lace dress that perfectly complimented her soft but whimsical personality. A little whimsy was added to the guys’ attire with varying colorful socks. There were many special touches to the day that provided glimpses into Ramona and Jack’s upbeat and colorful personalities – Ramona’s heirloom vintage jewelry that belonged to her grandmother, including her engagement ring, Jack’s tie that featured stick figure runners as a homage to his love of running, indulging in local pie for desert, their fun interactive couples’ toast, and their photo booth guest book in lieu of a traditional guest book. These unconventional aspects of the event made this night truly memorable.

Adding to the evening were the surprises for the bride and groom! The groom’s father surprised the couple with a room full of sparklers during his speech which looked simply magical in the dimly lit barn and the groom’s mother surprised them with Ben & Jerry’s Catering. Seeing the looks on their faces for not one, but two surprises made everyone’s night. A favorite part of their ceremony was their vows: honest, romantic, and unique to their relationship. Their vows told the story of their love and we were able to learn so much more about each of them because of it. We especially loved the line, “I promise to trust in the strength of our relationship because we’re better together,” confirming that these two belonged together.

From the Bride…

Before the Ring:
Cole and I met on a mission trip in high school with our church. From the moment I met Cole, I knew that I was going to marry him. He was so sweet and genuine. He was funny, nice, a great person to be around, and he treated me so well and that’s what I loved about him.

What is your proposal story?
May 2015 we went on a family trip with his family to Turks and Caicos. I had already knew that we were going to be taking family pictures this week, so I thought he was going to propose to me during our photo session. The day before we went to take family pictures, we went horseback riding in the ocean. His mom kept saying “We should look really cute today!” and I didn’t think anything about it. I just decided to wear workout clothes because I knew we were going to be hot and getting wet from the ocean. The guide told us that we were going to have to take the long way because there was another big group that was going to be down at the water the same time we were. We got into the water and the guide was trying to get my horse closer to the front because he was going pretty low. Once I got up to the front, the guide told me that we had to get out of the water because they had a deal with this home owner not to take the horses through the water at that spot so we started to head towards the shore. Once we got to the shore and rode along here for a little while, the guide was talking to me and then she told me, “Hannah you might want to look over to your left.” So I did and in the sand was written “Hannah will you marry me?” Cole got off of his horse and got down on one knee and asked me to marry him and of course I said yes! I love our proposal story. It will always hold a special place in my heart. It was the best day of my life, besides getting married of course!

Inspiration/details of the wedding day:
Cole and I both love being outdoors so we picked this setting for our wedding. I used Pinterest and The Knot for some of my inspiration. Most of the details that day were ideas my mom had come up with. We did a lot of DIY with the help of many friends to help make our day unique to us. We were so lucky to have family and friends in our lives to help make it all possible. Our vendors were amazing and so easy to work with. They helped with the details and the inspiration that we will never forget!

Most memorable moment/s?
The whole day was very memorable to me. I loved that we were able to have our dog Daisy in our wedding! I was able to watch her from a distance walk down the aisle and it made me so happy! From waking up that day to going to bed that night, I loved literally everything about my wedding day. All of our personal details and touches made that day very memorable.

From the Bride…

Before the Ring:
Dan and I first met floating down the Provo river – with our dates. The next time we met, we were both single, visiting a mutual friend in the hospital. One and a half months later we officially went on our first date!

The Proposal Story:
Dan proposed, and was so thoughtful. He planned a triple date with my two best friends for all of us to go golfing. (So I never would’ve suspected a thing!) On the 8th hole at Bountiful Ridge golf course, right when the sun was setting, the views of the entire valley opened up, he pretended to hit a ball into the woods. (Our friends had played on so they were on the next hole.) Dan led me down a rose petal path to a blanket with bubbly, roses, and chocolate covered strawberries. It was there that he got down on his knee and made me shed a tear with his tender words, then asked me to marry him. It was that moment that any doubts or fears vanished and I was like a giddy school girl saying yes to the man of my dreams. Awhile later our friends rushed back to celebrate with us and take pictures. I was on cloud 9!

What you would have done differently, if anything:
Danced more and eaten the reception food!

Any advice you have for future brides?
Remember that people won’t know what was “missing,” don’t stress it – especially on your big day! However it looks is perfect and so enjoy it! You can laugh at any mishaps later, I promise.

Favorite Moment?
Kneeling at the alter in the temple. Almost indescribable how amazing that moment was. Such powerful blessings and promises, and such a long-awaited moment with a man I love. Then there’s the feeling of inexpressible love from 100 of our closest friends and family all there supporting us.

Best advice to other mountain brides?
Weather can be unpredictable – be ready for anything! Also, have a good photographer – your pictures can be breath taking! It’s worth paying for the memories

From the Bride…

The proposal story:
We took a motorcycle road trip out to Yellowstone National Park in July 2013 where we were camping and seeing the sights of the park. Joel proposed to me at Inspiration Point which overlooks the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone at sunset while I was taking copious amounts of pictures of the rising full moon. When I turned around he was down on one knee and I of course said YES! I almost toppled off the edge of the canyon in my excitement, but thankfully my new fiancé grabbed me! It was a really special moment and we were all alone – which rarely happens anywhere in Yellowstone in July.

Details / Inspiration for the wedding day?
I grew up riding horses and working in barns, and we loved the outdoor setting for our wedding because we are outdoorsy people that liked the non-traditional aspects of the Enchanted Barn. I used Pinterest and The Knot to come up with a lot of the inspirations. We did a lot of DIY with the help of our family for the details which was a fun aspect and kept costs relatively low. We are lucky to have such talented and generous friends and family that helped to make all of our inspirations come true. We wanted to be true to who we are as a couple- and I think we achieved that with all of our details and the location. Our vendors were also amazing at helping to make our inspirations come to life, and they were all such a pleasure to work with.

Most memorable moment/s?
The intimacy of our wedding surrounded by our favorite people and officiated by my aunt. The mules running through the pasture behind the barn during our vows. All of our personal touches that made our day very genuine and true to who we are as a couple.

Ashley + Nick

How did you meet? We met online (eharmony.com)

What is your proposal story? Nick proposed to me in Heeney, Colorado while visiting some of his close friends. We had visited the same place the year before and fell in love with this beautiful and romantic lake, Cataract Lake. He took me back to the lake to propose, got down on one knee and all!

First look? We did do a first look and we loved it. It was such a special moment between the two of us. We were glad to get to have that before we walked down the aisle and saw each other in front of 200 of our closest friends and family. We also really enjoyed the gondola ride up with just the two of us. It was so nice to have that quiet time before all the craziness began.

Details of the Day: I love the colors blush pink, grey and gold. I’m also all about pearls and lace so it was just simple and classic. My wedding flowers were perfect and amazing. They were exactly what I had envisioned. Working with Kelli Daubling from Blooms and Blossoms was a dream. She absolutely understood my vision. I wanted a lot of soft, round flower arrangements. There were lots of roses and they were perfection. I did all the table numbers myself. We purchased picture frames that were on sale and spray painted them gold. For the insert numbers, I printed them on craft paper. Super simple.

Moments you loved, hated, cried, laughed or giggled at: The whole day was perfect and amazing. I have to say getting ready with my girls was such a blast. We had music and mimosas and were dancing up a storm. I love that time we had together. Honestly, I cried most of the day. I’m such a sap and it was an overwhelming and emotional day but I wouldn’t have changed a thing.
