Rose Gold Wedding Inspiration

Naomi — Mon, 19 Aug 2024 14:53:48 +0000

Rose gold, typically made of a gold and copper (and sometimes silver) alloy has a warm, romantic luminosity that radiates an unusual elegance. It’s a little bit unexpected and all the more charming for that reason – especially when used as a wedding color. From the actual rose gold you may wear on your ring finger to the use of shimmery pink-copper sequins and ink, this palette will have you glowing from within.

Wedding Color Palette: Sunset

Naomi — Thu, 08 Jun 2017 12:00:48 +0000

Ah, the beauty of a sunset! Those captivating hues that travel a gradient of violet, fuchia, coral, peach, and prettiest pink. As far as warm-weather weddings go, there might not be a happier palette! From dip-dyed gowns, to ombre cakes, and watercolor invites, there are many ways to create a sunset-inspired wedding. The photo by Floret of the farm truck full of dahlias was the original inspiration for this post – and you could create something similar with blooms lined from pink to yellow down the center of a long table, along the aisle, or of course in the bouquets. We’re betting you can’t NOT smile when looking at this palette!

Rustic Dutch Windmill Wedding Styled Shoot

Naomi — Fri, 22 Apr 2016 13:19:56 +0000

I am in love with these soft and calm naturally elegant photos, with artistic details and winter sunlight. This gorgeous styled shoot is filled with Dutch details and pastel colors, including Serenity blue and grey, blush, and champagne. A traditional 18^th century Dutch windmill in the middle of the old city center of Utrecht provided the perfect setting for the tulips, Dutch porcelain, Dutch braids, and rustic wooden pieces. The simple Delft Blue porcelain is a fine example of the handcraft of the 17th century and balances the rustic look of the table, while cakes propped on wood slices give an air of whimsy. Such lovely spring inspiration! CHYMO & MORE Photography is behind the lens.

From the Stylist:

Tulips have been grown in the Netherlands since the Renaissance and stand just next to roses in their beauty. These flowers are an integrated part of this shoot in color and the meaning. The tiny silver tea-strainer gives the picture a touch of shine and more authentic look.

The Cake designer Alma from Alma’s Bakery worked together with Natalia to decorate the cake with the real flowers. She baked the cookies and meringues that would compliment the styling and color palette. They choose a serenity blue base for the cake and added some light pink flowers and eucalyptus leaves.

Daniella from Naturae Design created 5 headpieces for this shoot. A piece with fresh water pearls dipped in gold inspired by the painting The girl with the pearl earring by Vermeer. A comb with golden maple leaves together with a belt made with maple leaves. She choose the gold tones that would go well with the serenity blue color of the dress and the golden blond hair of the model Caroline and one headpiece made from little dusty blue Labradorite crystals attached to the hair with the bobby pins. Our calligrapher went along with the romantic color scheme by using a delicate ripped cotton paper, matte blue envelopes and a matte copper addressing.

Boho Beach Wedding in Long Island, New York

Naomi — Wed, 06 Apr 2016 13:30:07 +0000

This gorgeous boho beach wedding has such fun, colorful details and a laid back vibe! Vanessa and Tommy met in 2012 at the Coachella music festival in Indio, California and wanted to infuse their wedding day with “hippie chic” elements to honor how they first met. These two free spirits decided to get married at the Sun & Surf Beach Club in Long Beach, NY. The boathouse-style raw space was the perfect canvas for them to create their own aesthetic. They chose a mix of deep reds, blush pinks, white hydrangeas and yellow accents. Vanessa wore a leafy flower crown with red, orange, and pink roses to match their invitations, menus, and party favors. Their little pup Diego was dressed and ready for the big day too! UP Studios is behind the lens.

More Details From the Bride…

Tommy and I are both free spirits and wanted our wedding day to be a special event for everyone – something sophisticated, but a laid back party for us, family and friends. While we both come from traditional Italian families, we wanted to put our own stamp on a lot of the wedding details – for instance, our selection of venue. We decided to get married at the Sun & Surf Beach Club in Long Beach, NY. The boathouse-style raw space was the perfect canvas for us to create our own aesthetic and theme. Situated right on the water, you would have thought we were at a venue in California (where we met) and not a half an hour from New York City.

We first saw each other for photos on the boardwalk along the beach. I will never forget that moment. Tommy and I were experiencing pure bliss. Later, our families joined for group photos thanks to Marcie at UpStudios. My bridal party chose their favorite dress under the color scheme I suggested to them. The groomsmen dressed in classic black tuxedos with gold accents to match the decor. Even our little pup Diego was dressed and ready for the big day! Then it was off to the venue where the magical night all took place. The ceremony was held in the back of the venue where the floral arch awaited us to say our vows underneath. We had so much fun choosing our flowers.

I run an event furniture and prop rental company called RentQuest, so with my team we were able to bring my hippie chic vision to life. We created an array of eclectic seating outside of the venue with a mix of vintage sofas, bright colored accent chairs, clear acrylic coffee tables filled with flowers and tied all of them with multicolored Persian rugs. Each table had a different center piece. Gold bases holding a wide variety of white and blush florals to complement the gold chandeliers above the dance floor.

Our love for music was an overarching theme of the event as well. For the ceremony, we had hired a piano that played a selection of our favorite songs. Tommy walked down the aisle with his parents our favorite Beatles song: in my life. The bridal party walked down to “Stand by Me” and me the Bride walked down to “Your So Cool” by Hans Zimmer, the theme song from our favorite Movie True Romance. For the reception, we had a live 10-piece band that totally rocked and got our guests up on the dance floor. It was not just the band that entertained; my mom, who is a professional singer, helped me surprise my new hubby after the cake cutting by singing a song from his favorite movie as a kid “Somewhere over the Rainbow.” Later on, me the bride, who loves to entertain also surprised not only her groom but, the entire wedding by getting up on stage and rocking out to Green Day’s, “Basket Case.” Finally, paying tribute to our Italian heritage and the two cities coming together, my very own brother serenaded Tommy and I with a beautiful rendition of Frank Sinatra’s, “New York and Chicago.”

Sweet Summer Blossoms Styled Wedding Shoot

Naomi — Fri, 11 Mar 2016 14:30:45 +0000

This bright and fresh styled shoot from Tennessee will light up your day! It is filled with flourishing blooms in shades of blush, fuchsia, orange, and lavender, a sweet coffee bar, watercolor details, cute quotes, and a menu inspired by the fairy-tale tastes of summer. I love the calligraphy on stone, lacy dress so evocative of the Southern bride, botanical favors, soft pastel palette and mismatched vintage china. Handcrafted latte art in a vintage china cup is such a romantic treat for a wedding! Joel and Amber Wedding Photography is behind the lens. Enjoy!

From the Photographer:

Our chef put together a mouth-watering menu, inspired by summer flavors and pastel colors. Our cake artist created a light and airy cake, along with scrumptious macaroons and meringues inspired by summer watercolors. The coffee bar was designed to create a unique twist on the reception! We wanted to inspire brides to think outside the box when considering different concepts for their reception. Hand-lettered, watercolor signs announced the flavor options available.

Quotes are such an inspiring way to create an emotional touch to a wedding. We wanted to incorporate some sweet and fun quotes to help capture the love surrounding a wedding. One quote was attached to our unique wedding favors – a live begonia flower for guests to take home and plant, with words from Audrey Hepburn: “To plant a garden is to believe in tomorrow.” Love is a delicate flower that is alive and beautiful – we wanted these to be a reminder of that.

We finished off our session with sweet sunset portraits of our bride and groom. Their love for each other was just amazing to witness. At the end of the shoot, that’s what it’s all about. This beautiful thing called love.

Vibrant Spring Garden Wedding Inspiration with Blush Gown

Naomi — Fri, 05 Feb 2016 14:15:44 +0000

A blush gown, pops of bright pink, a gorgeous garden…now that is a recipe for a beautiful spring soiree! This inspiration shoot was photographed at one of Richmond’s prettiest places – the Italian Garden in Maymont. The lively, passionate jewel-tone fuchsia is the color that sets the stage with a modern floral invitation suite by English Tea Paperie. This shoot also features a real couple who have been married almost 20 years! They were high school sweethearts and plan to renew their vows this year. A gorgeous bridal bouquet picks up the color palette with pink, blush and white roses, white hydrangeas, a few small white peonies and lots of greenery. Libby Selle Photography is behind the lens.

From the Photographer…
The star of this shoot is the blush wedding gown. We wanted to show everyday brides that they too could wear blush/pink gowns and not just celebrities like Gwen Stefani and Kaley Cuoco. Brides-to-be, you too can look fabulous in a pink or blush gown with bold embellishments like this blush flowered ball gown skirt with a v-neck lace top designed and made by miLA Bridal right here in Richmond! You can actually mix and match your tops and skirts – so many options!

New England Castle and Barn Wedding at Gibbet Hill

Naomi — Wed, 27 Jan 2016 14:30:58 +0000

Daryl and Tony were married at the beautiful Barn at Gibbet Hill in Massachusetts. Daryl surprised everyone with a magical wedding ceremony at the top of the hill in the old Castle-like ruins of an old hunting lodge. Enchanting ivy-covered stone walls and the perfect amount of filtered sunlight made for an amazing setting in which to exchange their vows. The bouquets were a dreamy composition of velvety blush roses, peonies, and dusty miller. The barn was decorated in an elegant vintage theme with soft colors of blush and cream with dim lighting and plenty of candlelight for a rustic and inviting look among the wood beams of the structure. Shoreshotz Photography is behind the lens.

From the photographer: “Daryl truly looked like a fairy tale princess with her hair fashioned like a soft rose and her amazing champagne colored wedding gown…and Tony, the handsome prince charming, fighting back tears when he saw Daryl walking towards him.”

Boho Courthouse and Forest Elopment in California

Naomi — Fri, 22 Jan 2016 14:31:21 +0000

Katelyn and George decided to have an intimate courthouse ceremony instead of having the big, traditional wedding. They then had a beautiful photo session in a local forest area. None of their friends and family knew they were eloping, so the photos were all they had to show! They made an adorable homemade sign with their date and info telling the world they eloped. Katelyn wore an oh-so-pretty flower crown in shades of white, blush, peach, and plenty of green with a gorgeous bouquet to match. Their joy and whimsy is contagious in these photos by Elle Lily Photography.
