Sunset Styled Beach Wedding

Christina Lilly Photography and Gilded Lily Events worked to create this beautiful sunset wedding on an untouched beach in New Jersey. The shell garland, blue mason jars, & salt water taffy favors are great additions to a seaside theme. I absolutely love the use of blue, green, and frosty white sea glass. There are so many things you could do with sea glass…you could make an entire wedding theme out of it! The bride broke the mold of today’s strapless dress with a gorgeous vintage lace Claire Pettibone and the groom kept it classic in a J.Crew suit complete with anchor socks. They tied it all together with the couple’s adorable pup in a bow tie! It’s hard to reinvent a classic idea but Gilded Lily Events made it fresh again.

Rustic Dutch Windmill Wedding Styled Shoot

I am in love with these soft and calm naturally elegant photos, with artistic details and winter sunlight. This gorgeous styled shoot is filled with Dutch details and pastel colors, including Serenity blue and grey, blush, and champagne. A traditional 18^th century Dutch windmill in the middle of the old city center of Utrecht provided the perfect setting for the tulips, Dutch porcelain, Dutch braids, and rustic wooden pieces. The simple Delft Blue porcelain is a fine example of the handcraft of the 17th century and balances the rustic look of the table, while cakes propped on wood slices give an air of whimsy. From the Stylist:

Tulips have been grown in the Netherlands since the Renaissance and stand just next to roses in their beauty. These flowers are an integrated part of this shoot in color and the meaning. The tiny silver tea-strainer gives the picture a touch of shine and more authentic look.

The Cake designer Alma from Alma’s Bakery worked together with Natalia to decorate the cake with the real flowers. She baked the cookies and meringues that would compliment the styling and color palette. They choose a serenity blue base for the cake and added some light pink flowers and eucalyptus leaves.

Daniella from Naturae Design created 5 headpieces for this shoot. A piece with fresh water pearls dipped in gold inspired by the painting The girl with the pearl earring by Vermeer. A comb with golden maple leaves together with a belt made with maple leaves. She choose the gold tones that would go well with the serenity blue color of the dress and the golden blond hair of the model Caroline and one headpiece made from little dusty blue Labradorite crystals attached to the hair with the bobby pins. Our calligrapher went along with the romantic color scheme by using a delicate ripped cotton paper, matte blue envelopes and a matte copper addressing.

Colorful + Earthy North Carolina Farm Wedding

This colorful DIY farm wedding contains so much inspiration for summer weddings! Sarah and Caleb tied the knot at the Hodgin Valley Farm in Greensboro, NC. Their relaxed, rustic style made for a fun and memorable day filled with pretty details. Sarah wore an elegant lace gown with a wildflower bouquet and flower crown. Her bridesmaids all wore mismatched dresses in shades of aqua and turquoise. The couple had their first look on the bridge over the lake, and was married by the bride’s grandfather before dancing the night away in the barn. Guests enjoyed homemade pie, local food and beer, and bright DIY décor made by the bride’s mother. The newlyweds were sent off through a human tunnel as all their friends and family cheered. California Bohemian Elopement Video

In this sunny and bright styled elopement, Sophia and Alex elope in a golden field under a bohemian tipi with only their photographer and videographer as witness. Bold blooms in shades of yellow, pink, and blue create a fun and romantic look for the bride’s flower crown and bouquet. Loose waves, bare feet, and a simple white summer dress create a relaxed yet utterly beautiful bridal look. Mountain Chic Destination Wedding at Deer Valley, Utah

Janet and Benjamin both love to ski and chose Park City for their wedding because they’ve spent a lot of time there as a couple. “We truly love both the summer and the winter and it embodies so much of what we love to do and what we love in each other,” says Janet. They had their first look on Ruby peak at Deer Valley, where Janet walked up behind Ben as he was facing the view. They exchanged vows at Cushings Cabin where beautiful birch posts covered in orange roses and greenery framed them before the stunning mountain backdrop. Shades of blush, orange, periwinkle, and rich navy blue built upon the beautiful colors of the summer and the wild flowers of the area. Pepper Nix Photography is behind the lens.

From the Bride…

Before the Ring:
We met in Austin. Ben was a 1st year MBA student at the time and I was visiting a good friend and classmate of his. It was actually their MBA prom at the W hotel. At the time I was dating someone else but we just couldn’t stop talking. While we each went our own separate ways that evening we kept in touch. When Ben came to SF we hung out and eventually went on our “first date” nearly 9 months later on January 7th.

The Proposal Story:
Ben proposed on my birthday. He planned this about a month in advance. His mother gave him a ring of sapphires and small diamonds as a stand-in ring while they would work on designing a ring together. The location was Cavallo Point, in between Sausalito and the Golden Gate Bridge. We had champagne on the terrace of a place called Murphy’s Circle first. He wanted to propose there but there was a family sitting next to us. After that we went inside and sat at a table that was setup alone in a room next to the fire place. While we were finishing the bottle of champagne and opening a bottle of red wine after we had ordered a multi course dinner, he gave me the ring.

Favorite ceremony memory?
Do I really have to pick just one? We honestly loved every moment – we wish we could relive it again. There were so many incredibly special things. From the toast in Cushings Cabin before the ceremony, to the absolutely beautiful service given by Ashley, Ben’s cousin, to the chair ride up and down, and then to the incredible dinner and dancing with all of the people we love the most in our lives.

Details:
We had lift tickets for seat markers, and ski mountains as our tables. Antique wood skis were our wedding guest book.

We had a beautiful white cake with raspberry in the filling and a white icing. We had an orange ribbon tied around it. Dessert was incredible beyond this, with a selection of artisanal cheese made at Deer Valley, and carrot cake and lemon tart.

Old, new, borrowed, blue – Blue sapphire earrings, engagement ring with sapphires, new bracelet from Janet’s mom, and borrowed antique diamond watch from Ben’s mom.

Early Spring Peach + Gold Wedding Inspiration

With a timeless elegance and classic romance, this wedding styled shoot was inspired by a spring floral palette of peach and gold. Perfect for warming up an indoor celebration in early spring when there is still a winter chill in the air. Soft blush and peach garden roses, white ranunculus, and greenery makes for a garden-chic bouquet we’d love to hold any time of year. The centerpieces contained similar colors but with the addition of spring ferns, pussy willow branches, and white hydrangea. Gold plate chargers were the perfect accent to the peaches on beds of moss, ferns, and mint at each place setting. For the first time, Pantone announced that there wasn’t just one, but two colors of the year for 2016: Rose Quartz and Serenity. As the world gets more and more stressed out people seek colors that slake our thirst for reassurance and security. Joined together, these two colors create a balance between a warmer embracing rose tone and the cooler tranquil blue, “reflecting connection and wellness as well as a soothing sense of order and peace.” These shades evoke compassion and relaxation, and couldn’t be more perfect for a wedding palette! There are so many ways to incorporate these shades into your special day, and I’ve included just a few of them below. Inspired by the airy and ethereal hue that is one of Pantone’s 2016 colors of the year, Serenity, I sought out some beautiful light blue gowns for today’s post. Not only do these gowns work as your “something blue” but they are a fresh look beyond the traditional white or ivory and absolutely gorgeous for winter or spring. Many of these are from 2015 or 2016 bridal collections and so it seems that the serene blue color has entered the collective consciousness of designers worldwide. Michigan Garden Wedding at Southern Exposure Herb Farm

When Courtney and Mike visited Southern Exposure Herb Farm, they fell in love the moment they pulled in. It is surrounded by the most beautiful gardens, paths and the perfect little details that make it a unique place to host a wedding. “We love being outside and knew we wanted an outdoor site and they had one open Saturday in their calendar so we booked in on the spot,” says Courtney. The farm took care of catering, flowers, and music. They enjoyed perfect weather as they said their vows before family and friends in the beautiful garden. Accents of light blue, peach, and blush were carried throughout – as well as beautiful succulents and burlap. “We love succulent plants and have a bunch in the living room as they are pretty low maintenance. We gathered various glass containers and planted/grew them throughout the year (they took over our garage!) These images from Joanna Moss Photography have me in the holiday spirit! This styled shoot showcases a fresh look that can go from wedding to party in the simple transformation of one dress – from ball gown to glittering party dress! A mix of winter whites and gold + silver glitter evokes on a modern holiday feel, or a chic New Year’s celebration. Two bridal bouquets are seen in this shoot – one containing more white and accented with bling keeping with New Year’s theme and the other more wintery and woodsy. Simple, elegant details keep this look classic with just the right amount of finesse. Light blue French macarons sprinkled in silver dust, gold mason jars, and a little indoor forest of white tress in twinkle lights. Pair it with metallic heels and you’re ready to pop the bubbly!
