Greenhouses are lush, vibrant places of new beginnings, and make for a playful and romantic setting full of country chic style. Jessica and Justin, who met in Afghanistan, had their engagement session photographed by Madison, of M. Chase Narrative Photography at a small, charming greenhouse in Virginia. They have an amazing story. Read below for the details!
Engagement Story:
Jessica served as a photojournalist in the Army while in Afghanistan and is now going back to school at VCU, majoring in Mass Communications. One of her first assignments in Afghanistan was an interview with one of the infantry’s units – which just happened to be Justin’s unit. They spent the next 10 months serving in the Middle East together and though they couldn’t technically date, it was the beginning of their story. After returning home they spent the next few years up and down the East Coast in a long-distance relationship, juggling school, service commitments and work schedules. Now, with their duties in the Army coming to a close, they are beginning their next chapter.
From Madison:
“As we sat downtown in Richmond at a local coffee shop, I loved watching the two of them interact. I couldn’t wait to photograph them. When couples go through so much as a pair apart, and they finally have the opportunity to be together like they want to be, there is such a strong energy that radiates between them. The smiling never stops, and close is never close enough. An abundance of happiness.“
