There is something serenely magical about peonies. I love to watch their evolution in the spring from tightly wrapped petal-orbs, to fully opened, lush and airy, voluminous blossoms. As a wedding flower they are the epitome of beautiful. In fact, this flower traces its roots back to ancient Greece where it was named after a beautiful nymph, Paeonia. She was given so much attention from the gods that a jealous goddess turned her into a flower with a thousand petals, the Peony. I’ve found some peony inspiration for you, and I have to mention, I don’t just love the cakes from Hello Naomi, because she shares my name – her creations are exquisite!
