I am captivated by the range of color in the botanical (and beach!) beauty of this Vancouver, British Columbia engagement shoot by Darko Sikman Photography. Anita and Kevin decided to have their shoot in the gardens of Stanley Park, which was filled with cherry blossoms and daffodils that April day. Later, across the bay, a perfect beach for a gorgeous indigo and orange sunset presented the opportunity for some perfect shots. Read below for their story.
Before the Ring:
Kevin and I met at a local Halloween event back in October 2006. I was going out with a group of friends and acquaintances where one of the friends decided to cancel at the last minute. With an extra ticket floating around, Kevin was enlisted to come. And the rest, as they say, is history.
October seems to be a good month for us because Kevin proposed to me five years later (October 2011). He kept me in the dark by saying that he needed footage of the scenery so that he may use it in a wedding video that he was making for his friend. He drove us to a quiet area by the airport that overlooks the Fraser River, and that’s where he proposed.
