This ruggedly charming desert wedding features earthy neutral tones with pops of color in the orange lily bouquets. Bethany and Talin’s wedding was almost exclusively DIY by Bethany’s helpful family. Her mom made the food, her sister and cousin helped her make decorations and they were married on her family’s land in the Nevada desert, overlooking a beautiful valley on every side. The reception took place at a school-turned-museum where her grandparents attended classes as children. How cool is that! Read more about their story below.
Before the Ring:
Talin and I met at the University of Las Vegas where we were both seeking a Computer Science degree. The first time I saw him I thought to myself, “Oh, that boy is cute enough to marry.”
The Proposal:
We went camping near the lake one summer evening and while we were there, Talin said he’d written a poem for me. It was a sweet little poem that rhymed very nicely. The last line was, “Bethany, will you marry me?”
Bethany’s Advice to Future Brides:
Don’t sweat it. Prepare all you like for the big day, but when it happens, drop all your worries in a box and just enjoy your day. Not everything will go exactly as planned, but some parts might be even better!
