Rustic Mint + Taupe Alabama Barn Wedding

by in — Updated April 20, 2016

Ruthie and Rush had their beautiful barn wedding at the Russell Lands On Lake Martin, Alabama. They picked three words to build their wedding on: simple, elegant, rustic. “We wanted the wedding to not be a show, but a real and honest look into our relationship and how much we love one another. We also wanted everyone to have fun so we picked a great band and good food!” says Ruthie. Bridesmaids wore beautiful pale mint lace dresses and the bouquets were made of beautiful petals in shades of white, peach, light blush, and green. Ruthie wore a gown with full tulle skirt for the ceremony and then changed into a fun knee length bohemian dress and flower crown for the barn reception. A sparkler sendoff ended the night with plenty of love and laughter. Jennifer woodbery Photography is behind the lens.

More from the Bride…

Favorite Moments:
My favorite memory from the day was walking down the aisle with my dad to Rush. He said he’d never cry in front of me and he was crying when we finally got to see each other that day. It’s a memory I’ll never forget and always treasure.

Did you have any DIY projects?
I was surrounded with very talented friends and family who all pitched in helping with different things! For example, my best friend designed the label for all of our wine bottles and the stamp for our favors, which were muslin bags filled with homemade salted caramels that my incredible sister made!

Any advice for couples in the planning process?
SOAK IT ALL IN. Seriously, it may seem stressful to be trying to bring two families together and trying to please everyone, but it’s such a special and tender time. Try to sit back and enjoy every moment, even the crazy ones! 🙂
